Will the Cobra reservoir box fit with my CAI?
The reservoir will fit cars with these CAI’s:
-K&N FIPK CAI
-Steeda CAI
-Standard 6”-12” cone filter
-Densecharger, JLP, MAC, Motoblue, C&L, etc…. I’m sure there are plenty more. If you don’t see yours, email me.
Are there any modifications that are needed and how easy is it to install?
You may need to modify your hood blanket a little. The side closest to the filter seems to hit the blanket. I suggest you just remove it. It allows for more heat evacuation under the hood and your blower whine is a hell of a lot louder! The box bolts right in at the stock location and is very easy to install.
Can I run straight water?
Yes. At the track running 100% water will give you the best cooling since water conducts heat faster than antifreeze. Running straight water will lessen your chances of electrolytic metal erosion (EME) too. This is not to be confused with common corrosion. What most people don’t know is that water is much less acidic than common coolants (Ethylene glycol)…. Anyways, Coolant 101 will have to be held at another time. haha
For long periods of time and street use, use 25% coolant and 75% water.
How much ice do I use in the reservoir box?
As much as you can. Then top it off with cold water.
